Community Guidelines
VIB Barber works because customers, barbers and shop owners treat each other well. These guidelines say what that means in practice. They apply to everyone who uses VIB Barber, in every role, and to everything you post or send: messages, photos, reviews, profile and shop information, and reports.
They sit alongside our Terms of Use (sections 6 to 9 are the enforceable rules) and Privacy Policy. If something here ever conflicts with the Terms, the Terms win.

The short version
- Be respectful. Treat every person you meet through VIB the way you would want to be treated in the shop.
- Be honest. Say who you are, describe your services accurately, and review only appointments you really had.
- Keep it safe. Do not threaten, harass, deceive or endanger anyone, and do not share other people's private information.
- Help us keep it that way. If something is wrong, report it, and block anyone you do not want to hear from.
What is not allowed
VIB does not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. You must not use VIB Barber to post, send or do any of the following.
Harassment and bullying
Repeated unwanted contact, insults, intimidation, stalking, or messages meant to demean or scare someone. If a person tells you to stop, stop.
Threats and violence
Threats of harm to a person, a business or property, graphic violence, or content that encourages or celebrates hurting others or yourself.
Hate and discrimination
Content that attacks or demeans people because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or a similar characteristic. Barbers and shop owners must not refuse or mistreat customers on those grounds.
Sexual and obscene content
Sexual or sexually suggestive messages or images, nudity, and obscene content. Any sexual content involving or targeting a minor is strictly prohibited, will be removed, and may be reported to the authorities.
Illegal activity
Anything that is against the law or that encourages or helps someone break it, including offering services you are not licensed to provide where a licence is required.
Impersonation
Pretending to be another person, barber, shop or business, or to be connected to VIB when you are not.
Spam and scams
Unsolicited advertising, repeated copy-and-paste messages, phishing, fraud, and attempts to pull someone out of the app in order to deceive them.
Inappropriate images
Photos you send in a chat must be suitable for a booking conversation. Do not send images that are sexual, graphic, hateful, or that show someone who has not agreed to it.
Privacy violations
Do not share another person's private information (home address, phone number, identification, financial details, private photos or conversations) without their clear consent, and do not photograph or post a customer without their consent.
Fake or misleading reviews
Reviews must be honest and about an appointment you actually had. No paid, retaliatory, copied or fake reviews, and no reviews of your own business or your competitors.
What we expect from barbers and shop owners
If you offer services on VIB Barber you also agree to:
- keep your profile, services, prices and hours accurate and up to date;
- honour confirmed appointments, or tell the customer in the chat as early as you can if you cannot;
- hold the licences and permits the law requires for the services you offer, and follow health, hygiene and safety rules;
- use customers' information only to deliver the service they booked.
Reporting a problem
You do not have to wait for us to protect yourself, and you do not need permission to report.
In the app:
- A message: in a chat, press and hold a message from the other person and choose Report message (or Report user). You can also open the menu at the top of the chat and choose Report user.
- A review: open the review's menu (the three dots) and choose Report review.
- A barber profile: open the menu at the top of the profile and choose Report.
You will be asked to pick a reason and can add a note.
By email: if you cannot report something in the app, write to support@vib-app.com and tell us what happened, where (which chat, review or profile) and who was involved. Please do not send passwords.
Urgent? If someone is being threatened, stalked or harassed, a minor is involved, private information such as an address is being shared, or anyone's safety is at risk, email us with the word URGENT at the start of the subject line. Read more on the Safety and Reporting page.
Emergencies: VIB is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first (for example 911 in the United States).
Blocking someone
Blocking is your decision and takes effect immediately; it does not wait for us. In a chat, choose Block user from the menu at the top (or press and hold one of their messages and choose Block user). On a barber's profile, choose Block from the menu. Once you block someone, neither of you can send the other messages, and the app hides their messages and chat from you. Blocking does not cancel an appointment that already exists. You can see and unblock the people you have blocked under Profile, then Blocked users.
Blocking is not the same as reporting. If someone broke these guidelines, please report them as well so we can act.
What happens when the guidelines are broken
VIB Support reviews every report. We aim to review each report within 24 hours of receiving it (a target, not a guarantee), and we review urgent safety reports as soon as reasonably possible. We do not tell the person you reported who made the report.
Depending on what happened, we may:
- remove the content;
- warn the person;
- suspend the account, including straight away where someone may be at risk and then review the details;
- permanently close the account, and close further accounts we find that person has opened;
- share information with the authorities where the law requires it or where someone may be in danger.
We decide based on what is reported and what we can see. Serious or repeated violations are treated more strictly. We do not promise to find everything on our own, which is why reports matter. Reports that are plainly abusive or made in bad faith may themselves lead to action against the account that made them.
If you think we got it wrong
If your content was removed, or your account was suspended or closed (you may see only a sign-in error) and you believe that was a mistake, email support@vib-app.com from the address you registered with. Tell us what happened and why you think it was wrong, and we will look again. We aim to reply within 2 business days. We cannot promise to reverse a decision, but a person will review your request.
